Hungry Talks

Hungry Talks is a student created TV show designed to connect Tertiary students to the ad industry and provide professionals with fresh ideas.

Filmed weekly in the RMIT studios with a live studio audience and countless industry guests, we covered topics from Artificial Intelligence to Social Marketing.

My Role

My responsibilities as a Co Host and Copywriter were to complete any written material and prepare plans for each episode.

In the writing team, each week we would create a concept for the episode and generate ideas for segments that would best showcase all the interesting things our guests had to offer.

Scriptwriting

Each week all 3 writers would have a meeting to write the episode. We would find the strengths and interests of each guests and choose a theme to make sure they would shine.

For example in Episode 6 we had Lindy Ralph (Senior Officer for Donor Experience and freelance Copywriter) and Janak Rogers (Highly accomplished Journalist) . We chose “Narratives With Purpose” to be the theme of the episode and set out to write questions with the aim of creating as much interesting discussion as we possibly could.

Socials

Part of my role as a copywriter and a camera facing part of the team was to assist in the creation of social media posts.

In this section I have an example of an episode description I’ve written and a post shared on IG and Tik Tok we created.

From my experience in Hungry Talks I gained an understanding of what is required to run a social page and how to harness trends to maximise your reach in your desired target audience. We examined well performing corporate social pages and found that the best performing content is humanizing and doesn’t take itself too seriously.

Check out the social links below to get a more comprehensive idea of the content we were creating.
